Responsible use of resources
It is up to us to use our resources wisely. The conscious use and conservation of raw materials such as water, electricity and paper is particularly important.
We use 100% green electricity and green gas at almost all FFT locations. Many sites are already connected to the district heating network.
We use LED lighting at our production sites in Gallin and Mühlhausen and in large parts of Stapelfeld. These are characterised in particular by their long service life and low energy consumption.
Environmental Certification ISO 14001
With our sustainable environmental management system ISO 14001, we have successfully integrated our environmental management into all areas and processes at the FFT sites. The ISO 14001 standard defines criteria for efficient and effective environmental management. We have assessed all significant environmental impacts and developed an environmental policy specifically tailored to the company.
Greenhouse gas intensity
Greenhouse gas intensity describes the amount of greenhouse gases emitted (measured in CO2 equivalents) per unit of economic output, e.g. per turnover or unit produced. It shows how efficiently a company or organisation uses resources to minimise emissions and at the same time generate added value.
A lower greenhouse gas intensity means that fewer emissions are produced for the same output – an important indicator of sustainable and climate-friendly economic activity.
Due to the structural expansion and the simultaneous
decline in sales, greenhouse gas intensity increased slightly in 2024.

Waste utilisation
Waste utilisation includes all measures in which waste is reused as a raw material or energy source. This includes the recycling of reusable materials such as paper, glass and plastic, the composting of organic waste and the utilisation of residual materials for energy.
The correct utilisation of waste conserves natural resources and reduces environmental pollution. Every contribution counts: From the correct separation of waste to the conscious decision in favour of recyclable products.

Mobility
We have already converted a large part of the FFT Group’s vehicle fleet to electromobility. E-charging points have been installed at the Stapelfeld and Mühlhausen sites.
We offer our employees the opportunity to lease a bicycle through Business Bike.
Green Wednesday
With ‘Green Wednesday’, we want to raise environmental awareness among our employees. To this end, we provide information on a topic relating to sustainability and the environment every Wednesday for one month.
In recent years, we have covered topics such as biodiversity, environmentally conscious nutrition, environmental awareness in everyday life, mobility and much more. We also encourage our employees to contribute their own ideas.
